The Tashkent Medical Academy was founded on July 19, 2005, by the president of Uzbekistan. Initially, the academy had faculties like General Medicine, Pedagogy, and Nursing with a capacity for 4662 students. Currently, it educates about 765 postgraduates and 205 physicians. The academy’s MBBS program focuses on training skilled professionals across 58 departments with a strong emphasis on clinical skills.
It has implemented projects like “On coordination and monitoring of research works” under a grant for environmental and human health. The academy also has seven separate scientific councils.
