The school was created in 1992 by a decree from the cabinet of ministers in Uzbekistan. It was formed from the Khorezm Regional Center for advanced training of medical workers. In 1995, following a decree from the President and Cabinet Ministers, the Urgench branch became a medical center with two faculties at Urgench State University. Then, in 1998, it became an independent educational institution.
The school has a 10-floor building with 90 rooms and 55 classrooms equipped with e-book boards. There are also 16 multimedia devices in the lecture rooms. It is recognized by the World Health Organization, and international students can get certifications from the Medical Council of India, PM&DC, and ECFMG. The school offers programs for Bachelors in Dentistry, Nursing, Medicine, and Pharmacy. Urgench city has a fascinating history.
